Bueno,
This week has been super fun and interesting! My companion and I have been blessed with the opportunity to do a ton of different things! Some of the things that stood out were cleaning the dishes and kitchen for a member who about broke her back at the gym (those Pilates man will get you!), getting permission and playing soccer with the local kids in the neighborhood who are crazy good a couple days, having a soccer tournament here in Azuqueca with our zone, teaching lessons, Eating some really good meals with the members, and last but definitely not least, watching conference with investigators at the members houses!
I feel like the revelation and inspiration I received from general conference this year was rather direct and exactly what I needed to hear to keep moving forward as a missionary. I absolutely loved the prophets words to us about the importance of reading in the Book of Mormon every day!
One of our investigators has been waiting for an answer for a month now about whether or not she should get baptized. She watched general conference at work and in a meeting we had with her on Sunday night she told us that she felt like those speakers spoke directly to her, and she too received an answer that she needs to be baptized in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It was one of those moments where you realize how powerful this work actually is, and that the Lord truly is behind ALL of it! I was so extremely grateful that she opened her heart and received that answer from the Lord. You can definitely put your money on the inspired words from general conference that is for sure.
We have also seen incredible progress from an investigator who we have looked for and found the church on his own. The Lord answers prayers. This man came to church for the first time in years last Sunday, and prayed for the first time in years. He has been without work for a very long time. He prayed to the Lord for help to find a job. We met with him a few days later and with enthusiasm and excitement he told me that the Lord blessed him to find a job in less than a week after prayer! Years of search came to an end after a humble prayer! This man taught me a very important lesson! The Lord hears all of our prayers, and has many blessings in store for us! Sometimes we just need to get on our knees and ask!
Azuqueca is doing pretty well right now. There are great people here who are opening their ears and hearts to this message, and it's changing their lives! The Lord is answering their specific prayers and we are just trying our best to do our part and not get in the way in some of this progress!
I'm so grateful for the opportunity I have to serve here in this area! I'm so grateful for the companion I have, for the district I have, for the friends I have met and taught, and for all the ways that my mission has blessed my life!
Have the week you have and remember that 9 out of 10 times you can follow the spirit by following your gut! I love that!
